Devon Wildlife Trust and the wild side of Exeter
Emily from the Devon Wildlife Trust gave an interesting and informative talk about the wild side of Exeter and other local build up areas at the Club's latest talk.
She discussed the habits of swifts and the planting of wild flowers along grass verges; the use of local parks and getting the community to use them more.
Members and guests asked lots of questions and she was able to answer with her vast knowledge.

Chris Britton digs up some memories
An old friend visited the club to give an inspiring talk about unusual plants and shrubs for the first meeting of the year. Chris Britton, formerly of Withleigh Nurseries, now trading and living in Kenton, brought a collection from his nursery. A keen plantsman, he is a very knowledgeable and was able to give advice on planting and looking after a huge array of plants.
There was a competition for the best hellebore flower which Chris happily judged and Chad Stone was the lucky winner.
